On Saturday, October 26, thirty-three birders joined TAS field trip leader Luis Gonzalez for a morning of birding at A D Barnes Park. Following is Luis’ trip report:
“A large turnout of 33 participants for the A.D. Barnes’ walk gave a lot of pressure for the morning. Thankfully the birds were varied and in good numbers with 66 species seen in total, highlights included exotics like Orange-winged Amazon, Monk, Yellow-chevroned and Red-masked Parakeet, all 3 Falcon species expected in Florida, a surprise flyover Roseate Spoonbill, and migrants like Yellow-billed Cuckoo, Painted and Indigo Bunting, Rose-breasted Grosbeak, Swainson’s Thrush, Baltimore Oriole and an amazing 16 species of warblers with Chestnut-sided, Bay-breasted and Tennessee Warbler being among the late migrants this walk targets.”
